[Technical Case] Vanishing Processing

Experience in the high-pressure hydraulic component industry! Introduction of examples of "vanishing processing" with machining accuracy comparable to turning.

Zawakawa Forging Industry Co., Ltd. is a company engaged in the manufacturing of cold-forged bearing products, machining of hydraulic pump parts, and the production of aluminum machined products. Burnishing processing is a method that moves a tool with a smooth surface against the surface of the workpiece without generating chips, resulting in plastic deformation and work hardening on the workpiece surface, thereby achieving a smooth finish. The machining accuracy is at the level of turning, and the surface roughness is at the level of polishing (2s), which improves surface roughness and strength, resulting in a mirror-like finish. Typically, when performing polishing processing, it is necessary to change the equipment; however, with burnishing processing, the tool can be mounted on a CNC lathe, eliminating the need for setup and other labor. [Examples of Burnishing Processing Achievements] ■Outer diameter: Φ200–750 mm ■Inner diameter: Φ50–550 mm *If it is a ring shape, burnishing processing can be performed on both inner and outer diameters. ■Before burnishing processing Ra0.33 ⇒ After burnishing processing Ra0.05 For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

Casting processing examples: Aluminum/Iron/Steel hydraulic components for construction machinery.

Here is an introduction to a machining case of hydraulic components for construction machinery, specifically the "valve block"!

Sudo Machinery primarily focuses on mass production cutting processing of critical safety components for transportation equipment (such as automobiles, trucks, and buses), and performs cutting processing of various materials including cast iron, aluminum castings, aluminum die castings, and stainless steel. In this case, we are manufacturing a "valve block," which is a hydraulic component for construction machinery, using forged material (FCD500). The processing methods employed are lathe processing and machining. 【Processing Example】 ■ Industry Classification: Hydraulic Components for Construction Machinery ■ Part Name: Valve Block ■ Material: Forged Material (FCD500) ■ Processing Method: Lathe Processing, Machining ■ Product Features: Multiple cross holes, endoscope inspection available *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Kurota's Story: The 300 Million Hole

The spirit of not giving up and the unwavering effort have created KUROTA's unique technology (equipment), which continues to be passed down to this day!

Years ago, when I was a manufacturing leader, I heard that the pistons for domestic master cylinders were expanding their sales channels overseas. I was filled with excitement for this significant opportunity and had high hopes for increased sales. However, I also had a lingering anxiety about the newly launched pistons, and soon enough, that anxiety was confirmed. In the early stages of development, the precision of the jigs was poor, leading to frequent occurrences of punches chipping against the jigs. This issue was resolved by improving the precision of the jigs, which eliminated the chipping. However, the fact that as soon as one problem was solved, another would arise, trapping us in a cycle of ups and downs, remained unchanged. *For more details, please refer to the related links. 【KUROTA'S STORY】The Fear of Mold Damage

Establishment of technology for forging complex shapes from aluminum T6 material! We have become capable of creating unique molds designed for stress distribution!

The mission was to forge the parts being machined in response to the demand for cost reduction. Initially, four years ago, the then Deputy General Manager of Quality Assurance attempted forging, but after machining only a few pieces, the mold, which cost tens of thousands of yen, broke, and the effort was abandoned. Next, the current Deputy General Manager of Production Technology took over and designed the mold according to the drawings, but after machining just one piece, it broke, resulting in failure. It was later understood that the aluminum was being tightly pressed, causing stress concentration at the corners of the mold. To overcome that issue, we made shape modifications and added relief grooves, and with great anticipation, we proceeded to test it, but the mold broke with one hit, and our motivation was shattered in an instant. The prevailing view among senior colleagues was that forging complex shapes from aluminum T6 material (heat-treated material) with a higher than usual hardness was impossible. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links.
